We're fighting to make Colorado roads safer for motorcyclists.
Current CampaignRolling Updates

We are determined to get electronic devices out of the hands of drivers in Colorado. Bikers seem to witness and encounter more of this dangerous behavior than other drivers, and most certainly some of the most injured when distracted driving causes an accident.

Sign the Petition

We support SB20-065 because we believe this law will help make Colorado roads safer for everyone.

If passed, all drivers would be prohibited from using a wireless communication device unless used in a hands-free manner. Navigation systems would be permitted as long as the address information was entered prior to operating the vehicle or in an emergency situation.

If passed, all drivers would be prohibited from doing any of the following with an electronic  mobile device:

  • Holding the device in the driver’s hand
  • Physically supporting the device with the driver’s body
  • Watching a video or communicating by video
  • Text messaging of any kind

If you believe Colorado should put drivers, motorcyclists, bicyclists and pedestrian safety ahead of operating a device while driving, we urge you to support this bill and sign our petition.

SB20-065: COVID-19 update

While the Colorado legislature is on recess due to COVID-19, it would still be helpful if supporters contacted the House Transportation & Local Gov’t Committee to request their support of SB20-065, Use of Electronic Mobile Devices While Driving. They are currently scheduled to hear the Bill on April 8. We’ll provide updates on the status of the Bill as they become available on the CORD Facebook page and support us while keeping your social distancing by signing our online petition.

The Hands-Free Bill Was Killed

The Hands-Free Bill Was Killed. It is with supreme frustration that I share this news: The Hands-Free Bill was killed by the House Judiciary Committee. This means that we have to wait for next year’s legislative session to start over again. And believe me: I will.
