Each year, as the weather cools and Thanksgiving approaches, bikers all over the Denver-metro area begin to day dream about the Annual Toy Run for Children’s Hospital. It’s a special day that hundreds, even thousands, of bikers come together to bring joy to sick kids and their families. The parade of bikes is a sight to behold and one that all bikers should experience and make part of their annual holiday plans.

But enough nostalgia! There are BIG changes this year with the toy run so here’s what you need to know:

When: Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019

Location Change:

Above all else, it is critical to get the word out that this year’s Toy Run will NOT start at the Aurora Sport Complex as in years past. This year we will meet at Aurora Town Center by Sears:

Town Center at Aurora • 14200 E Alameda Ave, Aurora, CO

Time Change:

We have a shorter turnaround time from arrival to departure to the hospital. Registration starts at 8:00 AM and the motorcycle parade starts promptly at 10:00 AM.

Registration:

This year ALL registrations must take place at the event. Please plan time enough to arrive, check in and get your wrist band in order to be ready to ride at 10:00 AM. Event pins will be available for $5.00.

From 8:00-10:00 AM, refreshments will be available to purchase courtesy of Hinkley High School Boosters and sponsored by Rider Justice and The O’Sullivan Law Firm. We’re proud to help support a local school by helping them raise funds.

At the Hospital, BikerDown will have a refreshments stand available for ride participants, again, sponsored by Rider Justice.

A reminder from Children’s Hospital:

  • Items need to be in their original packaging.
  • We cannot accept toys that depict violence, i.e. guns, swords.
  • Infants/toddlers, and adolescents are the age groups in greatest need.
  • We also cannot accept the following items: food products, potted plants, latex balloons

Wish List:

Weather

The event will happen, rain or shine! However, if the weather is such that it is unsafe for bikes, there will be no escorted motorcycle ride. Watch social media for announcements about weather on December 8th. If the parade ride is cancelled, you are still welcome ride your bike if you choose, but we encourage folks to consider participating with four wheels if it is cold and the roads are wet.

Regardless of weather, all vehicles are welcome!

  • If you are sick, stay home.

  • No smoking in or around the hospital
