Rider UP! challenges car passengers to be the first to spot a motorcyclist and yell its location in relation to the car. “Rider LEFT! Rider RIGHT! Rider BACK! Rider UP!” The player who spots and yells first is the winner.
Now there is a bill making its way through the Colorado Senate that could save motorcyclists’ lives. It’s called the “Use of Electronic Mobile Devices While Driving” Bill (SB 2019-012) and it is scheduled to be heard by the Senate Transportation & Energy Committee on Thu, Jan 24th.
Mark Miklos and Rob Tompkins have been buddies and bikers for over a decade. For many years, they talked about “one day” opening a biker bar together, so when a local bar in Golden, CO went on the market, Mark and Rob needed very little convincing to jump in with both feet.
Motorcyclists are getting hurt and killed on Denver’s roads. It’s a fact. It’s a tragedy. It’s unacceptable.
But it’s nearly impossible to figure out how bad our streets are because the city of Denver hasn’t built an interactive map that allows you to look at accidents street-by-street.
